30 years in the industry.
Run properly by us.
yousta is built on over 30 years in the industry, starting with our dad, Sam (read our history).
We’re Sally and Jill. We run yousta.
We stepped into the business full-time in 2017, coming from corporate roles in marketing and projects and straight into the day-to-day.
No easing in. Just get across it and get moving.
What we walked into
At the time, the business ran on experience and memory.
No eCommerce.
Limited stock visibility.
Tens of thousands of products you just had to know.
It worked until it didn’t.
What we changed
We put proper systems in place.
Got control over stock.
Cleaned up pricing.
Made things less reliant on who happened to be there that day.
Less guesswork.
More consistency for the people relying on us.
Making it ours
In 2019, we rebranded from VIP Fastening Systems to yousta.
The old name wasn’t distinctive and it didn’t reflect where the business was heading.
yousta does.
It’s our family name (Jooste) and it says what we do:
you + screws, tools, adhesives.
Same service. Same offering.
Just clearer direction.
How we run things
We split the week.
Sally: Monday to Wednesday.
Jill: Wednesday to Friday.
Wednesday’s the crossover. Sometimes smooth, sometimes a quick download of everything that’s happened.
If it lands on your day, you own it.
Which means you’re across it and backing the team to get it sorted.
Why it works
We’re sisters.
No politics.
No overthinking.
Decisions get made quickly.
We trust each other and we move.
On the ground
Ernie runs the warehouse.
He’s been with us for years, knows the products, knows the customers, and is usually the first to deal with whatever the day throws up.
He keeps things moving day-to-day, and we stay across it.
That’s how we keep things consistent.
The team
We keep things tight.
People who know the products.
People who know the customers.
People who take ownership.
A lot of our team and customers have been with us for years.
That consistency matters. It’s why things run the way they do.
Outside of work
We’ve got four young kids between us.
So like most of the people we deal with, we’re balancing work, family, and everything in between.
It’s not perfect.
But it keeps us practical.
The bottom line
We run the business properly.
We back our team.
We back our customers.
And we get on with it.
Building with you.
